When You Think You Know
by Allen Spicer
(Three Rivers, MI.)
A Collection of Personal Poems by Allen Spicer
You see someone and you feel
that someone really cares,
somehow your heartbeat doesn't seem real
but you know that its still there.
So you open yourself up wide
and throw caution to the winds
your feelings you can't really decide
but a heart breaks but never bends.
When you think you know something
it can be a shock to find you don't,
when your heart is just a thumping
and you think it will, it won't.
What love is truly
we never really know,
no matter how much I give my heart
it never seems to go....
BUT I STILL LOVE!!!!!!!
Love Can BE
by Allen Spicer
Love can be a beautiful feeling
so intense and yet so pure.
It can leave your heart and head reeling
and make your life seem so unsure.
A feeling so sweet it makes you glow
a glow that radiates.
Where ever you may finally go
your pores it permeates.
But sometimes love can cause such pain
some never do recover.
Some only end up going insane
from the deceit of an unfaithful lover.
But love is about such joy and pain
no wonder it hurts so good.
With it's touch you're not the same
but your heart beats as it should.

I sit around wondering
amidst the silence of sound,
it's raining but not thundering
alone, no one else is around.
My thoughts begins to travel
crossing the corridors of my mind,
as my feelings began to unravel
over the loves I've left behind.
I say loves because there were plenty
although not at the same time,
I've found that the heart can love many
as many as a clock can chime.
But still I search for the one that's true
the fairy tale we all read about,
the love that makes your life seem new
and makes your heart dance and shout!
The one that makes your eyes glow
or makes them water like a river,
it makes you smile even though they flow
and yet your heart still quivers.
