Age Gap Relationships

In our marriage we live with a five year age gap. To some five years doesn't seem like much, but when you live with a person who was in high school when you graduated college, you will have your battles. We had to learn that nobody wins in this art of war.

I never thought that I would be dating a younger man because I was always under the perception that it would be a big step backwards and a big headache. Until I met my now husband.

Our age gap relationship has stood the test of time and I can honestly say that I was wrong in my thoughts before. Our age gap brought about minor difficulties in our opinion. Through communication, not always good, we didn't let the minor difficulties evolve into major problems that could one day lead to us breaking up. We still get on each others nerves at times, but who doesn't.

As the days of our lives past by we realize that our differences more so had to do with our personalities and not so much our age gap. We all have our lessons to learn in life and no one is perfect.

It takes compromise and understanding to work out all relationship issues whether it's age gap relationships or any other male female relationship. As long as there are not any true signs of a bad relationship in your face try to have some patience, understanding, and peaceful communication!




Mature sexy women are now being called the cradle robber it seems. Just look at the news! The women of generation x are choosing late motherhood and younger men.

What has caused such a change in todays time?

Flip the coin and look around. You see lot's of younger women for older men.

Prime singles on either end of the spectrum are just looking for love. As long as it is not distasteful. I see no problem with it. I have daughters and sons and I do not agree with our teens being taken advantage of at their prime.

"With life experience comes education."

Older predators like to prey on younger minds, because of their lack of experience in life. Our parent child relationship with our kids must be close enough to were we can speak with them on the difference between a predator and a partner. And be sure to have them pass on the same parenting advice to their kids and friends."It Takes A Village"

My husband and I are one of the big age gap relationships. He is 17 years older than me, and we have been together 7 years. I have a ten year old stepdaughter and hope to have children in the near future. It has been hard being a second wife and sometimes I am not sure it will work, but we try hard, and we have alot of good days. He is a great father and that is why I fell in love with him. we have our good days, all marriage is work. I do not think the age is the problem, but unresolved issues from his previous marriage.

I recently started a "Age Gap Relationship" that has my kids in quite an uproar. I just turned 43, and he is 19. He was actually the pursuer in the relationship first, and it took me months before I would agree to it!! Now, I am happier than I have been in a really long time. I finally have found someone who can match my energy level. And someone who is willing to work with me.. not make me his slave!!

I am 36 with children...my oldest being 16. I met a wonderful woman through a mutual friend that treats the children well and in every aspect is my better half. I have received a lot of negativity over her age from most people. She is 18 almost 19. So far the age,to us, hasn't been a issue, and I pray that it doesn't.
